The Wife: More Leads Are Reportedly Leaving The Production

It is with great regret that the Showmax telenovela, The Wife, continues to lose a number of our favourite lead characters. This is right after it had come to our attention that Mbalenhle Mavimbela, who played Mahlomu was leaving the production. Now there is more. Things will definitely never be the same.

Information reaching Mgosi by entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela revealed that three more characters are leaving and they all play lead. With the production of season 3 almost commencing.

The Showmax series is allegedly letting go of three characters who all played lead characters. Phil took to Twitter to announce that Mondli Makhoba, Khanyi Mbau and Zikhona Sodlaka are all leaving and will not be part of season 3.

Respectively these leads play the roles of Nkosana Zulu AKA Bhuti Omdala and his wife Zandile Zulu, followed by Mandisa, Nqoba Zulu’s baby mama.

These news shook a lot of viewers, and for the most part, they are asking themselves what is really going on. As Mgosi, we are just as suspicious because something smells fishy. Hence many have suggested that the show should be cancelled altogether, because what is the point? Almost all the lead characters are leaving.

Phil believes that this is caused by The Wife readers complaining that the series is not sticking to the book. Therefore, in season 3, which is book 3 of the book series the focus is mainly on Naledi, Qhawe Zulu’s, love interest played by Kwenzo Ngcobo.

Many people are still making a fuss that although they will not be the centre of the book, Zandile and Nkosana’s presence is still felt. Plus, they make several appearances throughout the various books which makes them relevant.
