Mbalenhle Mavimbela is a talented actress, who played one of the married women, the much loved Hlomu.
Sadly, it is alleged that Mbalenhle is leaving the show. The Wife without Hlomu? Unimaginable but we will have to wait and see what the telenovela has in store next season.
The Showmax telenovela started out with the original wife, Mahlomu, and viewers grew fond of her. Mavimbela embodied the character so much that people cannot stand the possibility of a new Mahlomu, should the producers decide to recast her.

Information reaching Mgosi has it that her exit is on assumption that there is a personal issue that restricts her from shooting the next season.
Phil Mphela who is an entertainment commentator seems to know the reason behind her exit. “The Wife without Mbali will be a tad strange because she really dazzled in this role. The move could also be temporary, should they get more seasons. If they don’t recast in her absence, I would want to see her return,” said Phil.
However, with knowing much information about her leaving the show, Phil did not want to delve much into the topic. But all we know is that she is not in a place to shoot at the moment.
“Can’t say. Not my place. Let’s just say, shooting was not gonna be ideal for her right now,” he added.

Viewers are contemplating that Mbalenhle might be pregnant as she played the pregnant role quit convincingly well in the last few episodes on The Wife.
Just when people were getting excited that they will finally get to experience the real version of The Wife, which is taken directly from the book, this major change takes place.
Phil Mphela once reported that The Wife producers will listen to their viewers choice by sticking to the book, instead of adding their own ‘unneeded’ twists and turns in the series.
However, these turns totally deviated away from the book which did not work in their favour.
Nontheless, they managed to capture a number of people and broke Showmax records.
