On Friday singer, songwriter, and producer, Soul Star, dropped his new single titled Chuck Norris a follow-up to his previous single Umoya Wami released last year!
Like all our favourite amapiano tracks, Chuck Norris has a feel-good vibe that will get everybody dancing.

“Chuck Norris is a fun Piano song based on movie star’s famous spinning kick. The song is basically narrating how when the log-drum kicks in (base sound used in Piano) it hits as hard as Chuck Norris’s spinning kick’. It depicts the power of the Piano Movement,” share’s Soul Star.
Soul Star aims to take the music scene by storm with his versatility and says that his fans have a lot to look forward to.
Soul Star, Velaphi Sylvester Mtimkulu was born in Sebokeng, South Africa. He started singing at an early age, from Choral Music at school to Iscathamiya, Gospel, Kwaito, and R&B. He recorded his first album in 1989 with The Moonlight and later started an R&B group called Cool Edition with his High School friends.
Soul Star performed at school functions and also at the Miss Vaal Tech beauty contest. And later on, then entered the Hansa Pilsner Songwriting Search and got 2nd position, that’s when he realized his songwriting talent. Soul Star’s musical talent defines him as a singer, songwriter, producer, and musician. He studied music at Funda Community College, later signed by Black Coffee to Soulistic Music released Back II Soul (the ep) and Back II Soul experience (the album), and now signed to his own label Kya Soul Records where he releases his debut single Ungowami (featuring Samthing Soweto & FKA Mash).

Mali Yami ft [Da Capo] Soul Star’s musical pedigree afforded him an opportunity to musically direct a sold-out show held at TicketPro Dome (Black Coffee’s Music Is King Concert), where he also conducted the choir. He performed his biggest hit song (which he also co-produced) Rock My World alongside Black Coffee and a 24 piece orchestra Africa Rising Concert at Moses Mabhida stadium.
Soul Star also directed the music and sang on the Ballantine’s advert with Black Coffee and the human orchestra. Further on, he worked on Lux’s advert soundtrack We Are More with Black Coffee and Ribatone, which features Lira, Nhlanhla Nciza, and Moneoa. Some of the features include My Sunshine (Culoe De Song), Another Man (Black Motion), She Goes (Heavy-K), Ndipendule (Da Capo), Thembalami (DJ Merlon and Mondli Ngcobo) incl. the remix with the 5 times Grammy award-winning group (Ladysmith Black Mambazo), Nqo (Lemon & Herb), Ivili (Boddhi Satva) & Wela (Djeff), Impendulo [Malumz On Decks ft Soul Star], Moya Wami ft[2POINT 1].
