When Kelly Khumalo was warned against bad-mouthing Jub Jub to their son, she responded with a picture showing traces of blow-by-blow on her face captioned: “I don’t have to (bad-mouth him) this (picture) will one day…”
The picture shared by Kelly Khumalo clearly shows that Jub Jub allegedly threw heavy punches at her. One might argue that he used to beat her to a pulp – Gender-Based-Violence and or domestic abuse.

According to Times Live in 2016 Kelly Khumalo’s tell-all interview on MTV Base Africa saw the singer reflect on her troubled past including surviving an alleged abusive relationship with convicted killer Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye.

The Asine star sat down with MTV Base Africa for an exclusive feature entitled Behind The Story: Kelly Khumalo to set the record straight on her controversial private life which has hogged headlines over the years.
“He was very sweet but I think we all lose ourselves especially when drugs are involved. He had his demons and I had mine,” Kelly explained as quoted by the publication.

Kelly said that things started spiraling out of control when she fell pregnant. “I am pregnant. He’s not there. He’s never there. He’s drugging. There are other women. That’s when things started getting very heavy for me,” she said (then).
When it comes to Jub Jub’s arrest, Kelly Khumalo said: “I was left confused, hurt and broken. I was a first-time mother and I was trying to support a partner who’s very abusive both physically and emotionally.”
Fast-forward, Life With Kelly Khumalo will take viewers in a genuine day to day life of the singer – it will also reveal what role did Kelly’s mother, Ntombifuthi Khumalo played in facilitating the cultural needs with Jub Jub’s family when it comes to their son.
