SABC news anchor, Lisakhanya Pepe opens up about being told she wasn’t “pretty” since Primary School!
Lisakhanya Pepe took to Instagram on Monday, to air her sentiments around the issue of being told by her peers that she’s just light in complexion and that made her believe that she wasn’t pretty.

She says that she lived her life being a tomboy, playing soccer and cricket because she made herself believe that was much better than being a normal girl.

Lisakhanya Pepe says that in high school boys used to like her, though she was kind of “boyish” and most girls wouldn’t understand why to a point where they would ask themselves questions like, what is it that the boys see from her because she’s not even pretty.
“From that day I accepted that and told myself that maybe I’m not pretty for real, but let me just say I am adorable. When I turned 30 Four years ago, there was a Facebook post written about me, the lady in that post went on and said, “La Lisakhanya ufunda iindaba una 30 Kanti yintanga yam, so that means unqinile womile mos “ said a plus-size woman whom I think she was just trying to feel good about herself at my expense,” shares Lisakhanya.

She says that on Sunday when she was entering an aircraft for boarding, the crew members couldn’t hold themselves to tell her how pretty she is.
“I smiled with disbelief and from that moment I told myself it was about time to claim back. Maybe when growing up you were told you weren’t pretty, tall enough, you were too thin or too chubby, you were told you have a big head, ears, mouth you name them… Let us claim back our confidence,” she says.
