Television personality Minnie Dlamini who recently recovered from Covid-19, speaks on how the looting and the violence have negatively impacted her family in Kwazulu-Natal!
“It’s so easy to turn a blind eye to something that isn’t affecting you directly. But we all need to show support to KZN. My heart breaks at the local business owners who can’t recover from this, the jobs lost, the people injured, the people killed,” Minnie Dlamini.
Minnie Dlamini shared on an Instagram story how her family in KZN has been affected by the current state of affairs and they have run out of food. In her Instagram story, she tells viewers how her parents were not allowed to purchase food in their residential area because of their race.
“The situation in Durban is completely out of hand. My parents are not allowed to buy food in their residential area because they are black!!!! Mom called me (and) told me they have run out of food,” shared Minnie Dlamini.
Minnie Dlamini also took to Twitter pleading for South Africans to help one another and stand together as a country. Other public figures such as Andile Ncube, Thuso Mbedu, and Pearl Thusi have used their social media platforms to implement possible solutions to the problems at hand.

“The families have run out of food, the stores have been destroyed and the ones that haven’t are running low on everything. The mothers with small children who can’t get formula and nappies. The people who are ill and can’t get medication (still COVID).
“The entire Province waking up with fear every morning and going to bed to the sounds of bombs, and gunshots. Yes, we need compassion and prayers but we also need to start standing together and helping each other,” expressed Minnie Dlamini.
“Please address the racial segregation happening in KZN… no question of this sort has raised on the news the whole day,” said former Generations actress Thulisile Phongolo, tagging both @eNCA and @Newzroom405.
