Actress, radio personality, and businesswoman Pearl Thusi has come under scrutiny in a move seen as defending 947’s Anele Mdoda. In 2019 she said that singer Kelly Rowland looks amazing with make-up, saying that, “Take that make-up off then it’s tickets. I have receipts”!
“So this thing with Anele has gone straight to body shaming. Intense. I thought there was a universal agreement that we’d all outgrown that,” said Pearl Thusi.

Pearl Thusi was questioned about why she’s defending Anele Mdoda.
“I’m not even defending Anele. I’m questioning the line of attack, and the people who think they’re better than her by doing exactly the same thing, and worse at this point,” said Pearl Thusi.
Additionally, Pearl Thusi said: “Also, not everyone thinking they are God on social media to bring everyone reckoning. It’s all so intense”.

“Why is it okay for plus-size people to body shame but when they do the same people cry foul?” asked @Puseletso_M.
Pearl Thusi said that she was not vindicating Anele Mdoda’s actions.
“I have never said anything about Kelly. I don’t even Kelly’s pics were a direct attack on Anele,” said Pearl Thusi.
Mandisa Nkosi told Pearl Thusi to never start wars she can’t finish.
“Never start wars you can’t finish, Anele is getting the reaction she wanted. If you don’t want your imperfections to be pointed out, then don’t point out others,” Mandisa Nkosi.
