“It is in defining moments like these when we must unite as a nation to face our date with destiny, that we remember the words of great Artists like Gospel legend Sfiso Ncwane in his timeless song “Kulungile Baba” which continues to lift our spirits to overcome despondency,” wrote Nathi Mthethwa.
President Ramaphoda announced a three-week lockdown as a measure of prevention of the rife spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

In a televised/streamed address to the nation, Cyril Ramaphosa said the 21-day lockdown will begin at midnight Thursday and he called on the country to “urgently and dramatically” escalate its response.
“Immediate, swift and extraordinary action is required if we are to avoid human costs of this virus,” said Ramaphosa, adding that if the nation failed to act swiftly, it could face “a human catastrophe of enormous proportions.”

The lockdown will be fully in force when South Africans wake up on Friday morning, people will not be allowed to leave their homes except to buy food, medical supplies, seek medical attention or collect government grants.
Cyril Ramaphosa said that shops and businesses will be closed except for pharmacies, supermarkets, fuel stations, and health care providers as well as laboratories, banks, and other essential financial services.

With that said, members of SAPS, security services, health care providers such as doctors and nurses will be allowed to go to work.
Essential services mean services, by whomsoever rendered, and whether rendered to the government or to any other person, the interruption of which would endanger the life, health or personal safety of the whole or part of the population.
On Monday Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said in a statement that South Africa has now 402 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
