South African award-winning rapper Nasty C, real name Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo has been signed to Def Jam Records!

“It’s official baby! All the love to ya! Def Jam let’s work,” wrote Nasty C on his Instagram page.
“Welcome to the family, Nasty C,” confirmed Def Jam via their official Instagram page.

Undisputed since 1984, Def Jam Recordings hosts artists such as 2 Chains, Big Sean, Dave East, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Justin Bieber, Kanye West and, Nas to name just a few from the long list of their successful artists.
Def Jam Recordings is an American record label focused predominantly on hip hop, pop, and urban music, owned by Universal Music Group.
In the UK, the label takes on the name Def Jam UK and is operated through Virgin EMI Records, while in Japan, it is known as Def Jam Japan, operating through Universal Music Japan.

According to Billboard, the award-winning rapper Nasty C has signed an exclusive pact with Def Jam Recordings through a joint venture with Universal Music Africa. He’ll make his official U.S. debut when his new single “There They Go” premieres on Apple Music Beats 1 with Ebro Darden today (March 26 at 4:30 p.m. ET).

In announcing the signing, Def Jam Recordings interim chairman/CEO Jeff Harleston stated, “Nasty C is a unique and forward-thinking artist who is at the forefront of a new generation of rappers emerging from Africa.
