BASADI hitmaker, Lection, real name Thebe Lekhonkhobe is a man with a heavy heart. This after he had to pull the plug of his most anticipated event, Spring Break Hangout that was scheduled to take in the mining village of Chaneng, in the North West province on September 7 due to “lack of funding”.
The Motswako rapper poured his heavy heart on Facebook on Wednesday and announced that it’s with a “heavy heart” that he has canceled his event Spring Break Hangout during this year’s Spring season.
“What saddens me is that I won’t get to see all the amazing and talented individuals scheduled to be on that stage. There are departments and divisions put in place to help/develop artists or at least provide tools for artists to use in order to grow but tend to turn a blind eye when we approach them… of which is sad, very sad,” shared the rapper.
He also says that that’s as far as he would go with what he shared before he becomes a target.
“The unfortunate truth and reality is I can’t pull off an event of its kind of magnitude on my own financially, but this is not the end of the road, “I’ll keep knocking on doors,” he says.
Four years after the release of his hugely popular song Basadi released Ale Duma Ye.
The rapper also took time to announce that his album tour is underway and dates, including the venue, will be announced soon.
