“As I mentioned on the final night of Miss SA that I would like to start a mindful movement. One that aims to inform how we as a society view mental health and de-stigmatizing it,” said Abigail Musinda.
Abigail Musinda said that she will be having experts on mental health and discussions around how to prioritize not only your own well-being but also those around you.
“I’m so excited and proud to announce #MindfulMondays a series of conversations I will be having with experts on mental health and how to prioritize not only your own well-being but also those around us,” said Abigail Musinda.

She continued to say that there’s a profound need for us to speak on how mental health should de-stigmatized.
“There is a profound need for us to speak on how mental health should be de-stigmatized and the more we talk about it the more we’ll learn and understand the complexities of this issue,” said Abigail Musinda.
“In South Africa, the month of October has been declared Mental Health Awareness Month with the objective of not only educating the public about mental health but also reducing the stigma and discrimination that people with mental illness are often subjected to,” – SA Gov.

Our government understands that “mental health problems are the result of a complex interplay between biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. There is increasing evidence that both the content and context of work can play a role in the development of mental health problems in the workplace.”
