The young MGOSI Rising Star from Bethlehem and currently based in Bloemfontein visibly came into our attention when he recently appeared as an opening act for South African heavyweights such as Nasty C and Emtee during The Ivyson Tour in Bloemfontein.

” It started as a dream really, woke up the morning after and pleaded with South Africa to help me achieve it… voila, they made it possible and I’ll forever be grateful. The organizers reached out, I had a showstopper performance and it still remains the best night of my life to date. I really believe that GOD is only getting started with me, greater things are yet to come,” says MeloGenic.

Melogenic_real_name_Thapelo_Thlokomelo_Profile Speaking to MGOSI.co.za, MeloGenic says that he’s working on his titled The Breakthrough which had previously been set for release this coming April but unfortunately due to the Lockdown in SA, he had to push it back to the second half of the year.

“However, to make it up to my supporters, I decided to release two new singles titled Move It and Like Dat to keep them entertained for the Quarantine period (both set for release on the 8th of April 2020). I’m also working on a movie with Mzansi Magic which people can expect later in the year,” shares MeloGenic.

MeloGenic says that regardless of the Lockdown slowing down the progress of both the album and the shooting of the movie, he believes there’s a reason for everything.

Thapelo_Thlokomelo_MeloGenic“I believe there’s a reason for everything… in due time after all this has ended, all will be good and I’ll prevail,” he adds, “Thus far I’ve worked with amazing South African talent like Fash Ngobese ( produced a song for him where he featured Reason ), SAHHA nominated producer K.Dub, Lady Shakespeare ( USA ) and many more.”

When we asked how he was keeping up during the Lockdown, he says that “I’m doing my matric year this year so I’m mostly occupied with that, making music, interacting with fans (IG Live), daily exercising and checking out some new movies.”
