Rami Chuene has issued a warning to “twitter journalists” to not copy, paste and make articles out of her thread, breaking down the works of the entertainment industry, as Mgosi reported previously!ctress
“oh, forgot to ask the twitter journalists to not copy and paste and make articles. Niyadika, shem! Work harder please,” Rami Chuene.
Here’s MGOSI’s mix-masala to put things into perspective!
We are entering the digital era of news reporting from various sources (MGOSI catching up fast), be it credible or not. How do we stand out from the rest? How do we make sure that we are deemed as trusted sources of news? It’s simple, by reporting news in a very fair and balanced manner. Allowing every news-subject their voice to reason.
But, the issue that is torturing us… is that of the matter that we copy and, paste stories from social media. Yes, oh yes, we do! Here at MGOSI – we call those Social Media News (SMN).
We’ve called so many celebrities to seek comment and further explanation of a statement they made on their official social media accounts. Most of them will tell us to go check their social media pages and there’s nothing else to say further.
Happy now? Well, allow MGOSI to tell you something very important: In the digital newsgathering era, there’s no time to wait and watch news break while you’re waiting for a comment or got none. We publish news and follow up if we have to.
So, Rami Chuene’s tweet saying that “oh, forgot to ask the twitter journalists to not copy and paste and make articles. Niyadika, shem! Work harder please,” she said as if we’ve (MEDIA) never added value in exposing her career to what it is today.
She might have forgotten that in order for people to see her, the same mediums of support are used gravely.
Rami’s statement touched MGOSI and we’re certain that many media practitioners are also touched – social media is a source of breaking news and as journalists, we cannot ignore that. Doing so, we will be sleeping on breaking news.
