Memorial and funeral details of the slain rapper, AKA have been released today, February 14.
The sad death of the multi-award-winning rapper and music producer Kiernan “AKA” Jarryd Forbes is on that took all of us by shock. Till this day, many South Africans are saddened occurrence of his death that happened on Friday night in Durban. Outside a restaurant called Wish.
The family of the prominent rapper revealed in a statement to the public that the memorial ceremony will be broadcast online and available to the public.
“It is our wish to celebrate the life of Kiernan with those he touched and impacted through his gift of music. His memorial will therefore be open to the public as well as streamed online,” read the statement.

The family also said that AKA will be buried on Saturday, February 18, 2023. In a private provincial funeral which will be available on various platforms for Mzansi to watch.
The Forbes family also expressed gratitude to the public for its support following the devastating loss of their son.
“We as the Forbes family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love we have received over the past few days.”

The Supa Mega’s family also expressed gratitude to their extended family, the Mohosanas, for their assistance. “
We’d also like to acknowledge our extended family, the Mohosanas for their unwavering support during this time, as Bongani Mahosana will be in absentia at the memorial and funeral due to observing cultural protocol.”
AKA was slain together with his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, an entertainment entrepreneur, seasoned chef, and respected novelist. The Motsoane family also confirmed that a special send-off service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Sacred Heart College in Observatory, Johannesburg.
