My life has been in danger since day one of the murder and people I love have been in danger and that includes my attorney”. The artist also says that she does not feel protected by the law.
Khumalo says she believes that if the public and the judge want to know anything that she’s one of the people that need to say something. Kelly adds that she can not get on TV and start speaking about the matter.
As there is a procedure of the courts proceedings and she says the public does not understand that.
Kelly Khumalo mentions that she has been sent many death threats after as many South Africans believe she is to be blamed for the murder of Senzo Meyiwa who played for the Bafana Bafana as the goalkeeper.
This comes after Senzo Meyiwa was shot and killed back in October 2014 on the 26th. The soccer player was murdered at Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house in Vosloorus. It is alleged that it was a robbery gone wrong.
ENCA’s interviewer said that Kelly Khumalo seemed adamant that she had something to say in court. Khumalo believes that the South African justice system has let her down.
During the interview, Kelly Khumalo says, “we have a problem in this country” referring to the point that justice is never served.
The artist says many people to her surprise commented on her post on Instagram. To tell her that they support her and agree with her as they are one of the many in south Africa who feel that they have been robbed of justice.
The ENCA interviewer says she believes the reason Kelly did this interview was that Kelly wanted to own her story. But because of the legalities there was not much the singer could say. However, she wants South Africans to know that she wants to tell her story and wants her day in court.
The interviewer thinks another reason is that Kelly wanted to let everyone know that she is ready to be in the witness box and to face anything regarding the matter. As it has been already eight years and wants to clear her name.
The court case will be returning in September.
