K Naomi explained why she turned down on being one of the cast members on the reality show, #MommyClubShowmax. The Mommy Club is a reality show that follows five glitzy mothers who seem to have it all. It offers a comprehensive inside look at the one percent’s lifestyles and that of the people who help them grow their businesses and rearing their offsprings.
The show is currently streaming on Showmax, with new episodes every Tuesday. The Showmax original follows Mrs Mops, Hermajesty, Tshego Manche, Nunurai and Ratile Mabitsela.
It turns out that media star K Naomi nearly joined the cast. During a recent Instagram Live with her fans, the new mom disclosed that she had been asked to be part of the show but turned it down right before signing the contract.
“I declined the day before we were meant to meet. It was just a matter of signing the contract. When I had to sign the contract I was just like, ‘I can’t ‘. When I watch it now, I’m like, ‘it’s dope’. People are getting a lot from it. A lot of people are watching, it’s trending which is really dope. The show is doing really well,” she said.
K Naomi went in to detail on why she turned down the offer:
“I don’t think I’m ready to open up at that level and share so much of my life with people. It’s not a lot actually, it’s really just about the show being a mommy, your kid and the nanny but the problem would be people I’d have to be around. I don’t feel like you guys would get a genuine K Naomi when I’m around people I’m not used to. So that was very awkward for me.”
“Cause now these aren’t my friends so the whole time I’m like either pretending to be cool…I also don’t think I’m that flamboyant. You won’t hear me say, ‘I drive an M4, if you see me in an M4 that’s what I drive but I won’t… I’m not boastful. I feel like they needed that side and I wouldn’t have been able to give them that. So I’d probably be the boring girl on the show if I was there. That’s the reality of things and it wasn’t worth… what I was going to get from it (the money) wasn’t worth exposing my private life like that. I don’t care about the exposure,” she concluded.
