The SABC has confirmed that it will take action against those that posted the “unapproved” Miss SA poll that left a bitter taste to many South Africans.
The broadcaster’s spokesperson, Vuyo Mthembu told MGOSI that they know those responsible for posting the content but their names cannot be shared and relevant internal measures against them will be applied.
At the weekend, South Africa saw a Twitter poll popping up from the station’s Twitter page asking fans if the newly crowned Miss SA, Zozibini Tunzi was “stunning”, “just ok”, or “wrong choice”.
Metro FM has since apologised for the incident on our newly crowned Miss South Africa, following a social media backlash at the weekend.
On the other news, the SABC has announced the resignation of Dr. Craig van Rooyen as Acting Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Group Executive: Technology.
In a statement issued on Monday, the broadcaster said that Dr. Van Rooyen’s resignation is due to personal and family reasons. He will bid his final farewell on September, 9.
