At the weekend South Africans received the news that will shock them forever when Amapiano artists, Killer Kau, Mpura, Thando Tot, Khanya Hadebe, and TD died in a car accident!
The talented young artists were traveling from Gauteng to a gig in the North West, Rustenburg.

Police have confirmed to this publication that they are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
According to a source who wanted to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal, the Mercedes Benz they were traveling in belongs to Thando’s father.

“We are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a Mercedes Benz sedan collided with a Corsa on Saturday night at 9:30 near Marikana. The Mercedes Benz was driving from Pretoria side to Rustenburg, 5 people died in the Mercedes. The driver of Corsa also passed on,” said SAPS spokesperson Amanda Funani.

Department of transport, roads, and community safety spokesperson Boitshoko Moremi told Sowetan that on August 7, six people died in a head-on collision on the N4 in Rustenburg near the Marikana toll gate.
“The department of community safety, roads and transport has confirmed the accident that claimed six lives on the N4.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and we hope they find strength during this difficult period. An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the accident. Mpura, real name Mongezi Stuurman shone brightly recently during the rise of the amapiano genre, having been part of great collaborations that gave Mzansi hits including Umsebenzi Wethu.
Killer Kau, real name Sakhile Hlatshwayo, burst into the spotlight when he was “discovered” on Twitter, following with the success of hit song Tholukuthi Hey.
South Africans are still mourning and in shock by the sudden death of these young talented Amapiano artists.
