Mzansi Magic said that it was evident that the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown restrictions have not discouraged people from dreaming and working on achieving those dreams, including entering for Idols SA season 17!

According to Mzansi Magic, Idols South Africa launched its first-ever Online Auditions last year (2020) and they ran in tandem with mass auditions just before South Africa went into a nationwide lockdown.
With the pandemic persisting into the new year, auditions went fully online on the 29th of January 2021, in-line with lockdown restrictions, to ensure the safety of the many hopefuls. Just seven days later, South Africa’s largest singing competition has garnered 10 000 entries and counting! – Mzansi Magic.

This is a testament to the fact that Mzansi is still hungry for a shot at winning this competition and they believe the platform is their best shot at becoming the singing sensations they aspire to be. – Mzansi Magic.
There are fewer than 5 000 entry spots remaining, and those who are interested in being a part of Idols SA Season 17 should enter before the 15 000 target is reached. Online entries will close upon reaching this figure or on Sunday, 14 February 2021 at 10PM (whichever comes first). – Mzansi Magic.
