South African media personality and businesswoman, Boity Thulo, has dropped assault charges against her old friend, Bujy Sthembinkosi Bikwa.
In October 2021, Bujy had allegedly assaulted Boity with a bottle of alcohol and within a blink of an eye Boity’s bloodied pictures were already circulating on the internet, which led to Boity opening a case of assault against Bujy. The media personality was taken to hospital as she had sustained a cut on her face, this incident occurred at Waterfall in Midrand. However, after a long legal battle, the two have reportedly made amends and decided to move on from the incident.

“We hugged, we spoke, and we are okay. We both agreed we are going to move on and be civil towards one another. I’m at peace, we are both at peace. I think it’s a lesson learned from me I think from both of us,” Bujy told TshisaLIVE.
Bikwa claims that the whole incident changed him and helped him figure out who he was as an individual and now that he is a better person he can advocate to no violence. Post the incident Bujy lost out on a number of gigs as no company wanted to work with him, he had to downgrade his life, that’s when he realised that his reputation and career are on the line.
“This thing broke me. Going through depression and suffering from social anxiety was the hardest thing I’ve had to go through. It’s been a year. I had to do my own healing. The silence for me was very important for my sanity. I don’t have anything to hide,” he added.
“I had to forgive myself and what had happened because at some point you if don’t forgive yourself, thinking you should have walked away… There are so many emotions. If you sit in this hole you’re going to die in it. I never thought I’d be in such a situation.
Bujy took to his socials to express how lightweight he feels now that the legal battle is over and publicly apologised to Boity claiming that he couldn’t do it while he was still in hot water.
