Avuyile Nkompono popularly known as Coolkiid, is an Amapiano sensation that recently confessed to raping a young girl, age 13.
The artist can be seen in a video that trended, saying that he indeed did sleep with the underage girl. Without using protection. However, he had since denied. Having raped the teenager and says he was beaten and forced to say it on record.
Coolkiid who was signed by Sony Music in 2021. Says for him to have done the video confession is because of the girl’s father and uncle. Who forced his hand.
The alleged rape happened last year, on December 28. This was on Coolkiid’s 23rd birthday celebration of which he spent three days behind bars before being released on a R2000 bail.

After his release on bail, Coolkiid rushed to post on social media saying that he survived and made it home stronger.
“The devil is a liar, thank God I survived, and I made it back home stronger. People are so evil, never trust anyone. I still cannot believe everything happened on my birthday (28 December). I thank God nabaphansi for ukungikhusela (my ancestors for protecting me through everything bad that happened to me).”
The victim’s uncle went on to insult law enforcement. “Our law in South Africa is very weak. How can someone who confessed to sleeping with a minor be given bail when he should be behind bars? This boy is disrespectful towards our family, and he doesn’t see anything wrong in what he did. He has destroyed the girl’s future, yet he comes out and calls us devils,” he said.
He continued, “I don’t mean to sound like a politician but for now I am a parent that will do anything to protect my children. For what happened in the case of Coolkiid I can say this is an injustice. I don’t want to lie; I am angry at the fact that he is out on bail for everything he did. I want him to rot in jail.”

A friend of Coolkiid who does not wish to be named said: “He was indeed arrested and let out on bail. This is after two men, who I can’t mention tortured him for two days and forced him to make a fake confession. The men do not want his career to succeed because they want to control everything in his life including his career. He no longer wanted them to manage him and that is when things became ugly,” said anonymous.
“The court dismissed the case on 9 February. All Coolkiid now wants is justice. He has opened a case of assault and will be taking the matter further.”
Coolkiid has since come forward with a statement. Saying that he was forced to confess and that he did not rape the 13 years old. “There was no way I could not have answered those questions. I had to lie because I was being beaten. I was scared for my life. I had no option because I was scared for my life. All I can say, the case was dismissed. Now things are going to be vice versa. I am now letting the law take its course. All I want to do is focus on myself and get better.” says he was beaten and forced to make a fake confession on camera to a rape crime he says he did not commit.
