Last month, gossip headlines were buzzing when Sli Khumalo dropped a bombshell, claiming that Tebogo Lerole from the Kwela Tebza band tried to set her up in a hotel room with another woman. Why, you ask? So he could cozy up with none other than DJ Tira’s wife, Gugu Khathi, during the Eastern Cape SUV challenge event. Talk about scandalous!
Gender activist Sli Khumalo wasted no time pointing fingers, accusing Gugu of cheating on her hubby with Lerole. To back up her claims, she even shared a voice note between the two ladies. ZiMoja caught up with Sli last month, where she spilled the tea, saying, “I flatly refused to share a room with some random girl who came with Tebogo while he wanted to share a room with Gugu.”
But hold on tight, because Gugu wasn’t about to let these accusations slide. She lawyered up and fired back at Sli, demanding a retraction and an apology. In a letter from Gugu’s legal team, they warned Sli, “You better comply within five days, or we’ll take you to court. And trust us, you don’t want to mess with us!” The heat was on, and the clock was ticking for Sli to make a move.
Unfazed by the legal threats, Sli Khumalo remained defiant. Her lawyers, Diaho Attorneys Inc, sent a counter letter to Gugu, slamming her demands and stating, “Our client will not stoop so low as to apologize for something she had no part in.” Ouch! The tension between these two is reaching boiling point, and it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. The Mafikizolo dancer’s marriage to DJ Tira is also reportedly feeling the strain from these explosive allegations.
Ever the firebrand, Sli Khumalo pointed her finger at the media, suggesting that Gugu should be demanding an apology from them, not her. According to Sli, the media approached her, seeking her side of the story. Her legal team hit back, stating, “Your client’s allegations against our client are malicious and baseless. Our client denied any involvement when the gossip surfaced on social media. The assumption was made because our client knows both Mrs. Khathi and Mr. Lerole for at least three years.” Sli made it crystal clear that she wouldn’t bow down to Gugu’s legal threats and refused to offer an apology.
Gugu Khathi isn’t one to back down easily. Determined to teach Sli Khumalo a lesson, Gugu declared, “She can’t blame the media for her actions. I’m not giving up. She needs to pay the price for trying to destroy my marriage and tarnish my name. If she claims she has evidence, let her bring it forward.” Gugu, with her years of experience in the industry, wants to set an example with this fiery showdown.
Buckle up, folks, because this battle of words and accusations is far from over. These ladies are in it for the long haul, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
