On 23 June, Dineo Ranaka updated her fans about her mental health journey, a week later reports come out that the radio personality and Kaya FM are negotiating a separation, after Ranaka allegedly approached her employers to propose a mutual separation agreement.
According to SundayWorld, the station’s directors were flummoxed by Ranaka’s request, they begrudgingly acceded to it with the hope that they would convince her to stay until her contract comes to an end.

The station was first informed by Ranaka’s associates that she would return to work a week after opening about her mental health struggles on social media.
Sizwe Dhlomo has been holding down Dineo’s slot for the past few weeks since her sick leave, which she co-hosted alongside radio presenter Sol Phenduka.
The radio jock broke her silence about battling with suicide about two months ago on Instagram.
“I get it. I get them…Because I’m trying my best not to commit suicide. My mind is so loud of late, and life is f***ing hard, so f***ing hard, and I’m trying my best, but it seems isn’t enough,” she wrote.
The station’s managing director Colleen Louw released a statement, saying they wished her strength as she finds a way through her battle.
Kaya 959 morning show host and her employers’ mutual separation negotiations are still underway and might be concluded in the next few days. We will see whether Ranaka returns to the airwaves or terminate her three-year contract which was supposed to end in 2025.
