Over the past few months, the Ferguson’s have been heavily criticized for firing actors from The Queen. They’ve been seen as horrible people with no regard for South African talent but that has been addressed!
In a recent Instagram Live stream with one of their actors Brutus Khoza, real name Themba Ndaba, Connie, and Shona Ferguson were hit with a question that they’ve never addressed before publicly.

One of the Instagram Live viewers asked: “why do you keep firing people?”
Shona Ferguson asked if Connie wanted to answer and she jumped in.
“Guys this is a soapie, it’s a telenovela okay? Characters come and go. That’s how a soap operates. It’s for the story. Sometimes to introduce another story but characters come and go. This is not something that is exclusive to The Queen… it happens everywhere. It happens all the time,” said Connie Ferguson.

Shona Ferguson chipped in and said that “it is what it is” and he hopes the person who asked the question has been answered.
Adding to what Connie has said “I think that’s what people don’t know that the reality of what we do is that you’re going to see new people in and out. It’s the nature of storytelling,” explained Shona Ferguson.
Shona said that people/viewers forget because when they watch a show they get to a point one year later and realize that they were actually tired of certain characters.

Shona Ferguson said that if they have to give viewers something new and something different somebody has to go.
Themba Ndaba said he hopes he will not be the next person to get booted and they all laughed it off.
Some of the actors that were booted from The Queen are the likes of Rami Chuene who played TGom Mabuza, Setumo Motsoaledi who played Mmabatho Khoza, SK Khoza who played Shaka Khoza, Khayakazi Kula who played the supporting role of Martha, and Prince, a flamboyant assistant to the main character Harriet Khoza (Connie Ferguson) played by Metro FM’s Moshe Ndiki.
