In the video, Lasizwe said that he would be leaving his popular YouTube channel in his past. Sadly, the decision had much to do with his personal woes.
“Last year, I hit a brick wall; I became so depressed. I ended up in the hospital, I had a mental breakdown, and I decided to choose myself, not knowing how I was going to live,” he said.
“It was tough. I wasn’t consistent; I didn’t give it my all. I decided to stop doing YouTube just to figure out what was going on with me”.
Even while South Africans and fans abroad love Lasizwe’s silly sense of humour, his comedy career came with too much pressure to handle.
He continued: “You’ve watched me grow [but] things have changed. To be honest, comedy is now my weak point. The videos I made back then, I can’t make them now”.
Becoming emotional, he added: “Thank you for loving me and going on this journey with me through the ups and downs, the trolls, the mental breakdowns, and the achievements.
“My life changed because of you. It’s not the end. It’s the beginning of a new era. It’s going to be a beautiful one! Are you up for the challenge?”
While Lasizwe may be putting his personal YouTube channel to rest. He has other plans to start a business channel called The African Network channel.
He then asserts that this channel will be more collaborative than his main channel. As he plans to work with his fan base to create content for the channel.
He added: “I want you to use this video for reference, and this time around, I’m doing it alone – I’m doing it with you!“The goal is to get to one million subscribers by the end of the year, we can do it!”
Having created the channel in December 2022 and at the time of Lasizwe posting. The video had 0 subscribers, which have now jumped over to over 4 000 subscribers in over 12 hours.
