As South Africans are counting down for the Lockdown at 00:00 midnight on Thursday, rapper and Idols SA’s executive producer Proverb, real name Tebogo Thekisho said he was trying to stay calm, especially for his kids.

“Trying to stay calm, especially for the kids. In my household currently, my kids look to me to set the mood in the house. I try and keep them calm by exercising calm myself and reassuring them that if we all do as advised, we shall overcome,” wrote Proverb.
Proverb was not the only South African celebrity that seemed to be in a panic.

“My anxiety currently has anxieties about my level of anxiety,” said poet Lebo Mashile in relation to the national lockdown of 21 days.

Locals have compared the lockdown to the apartheid era, for the first time in South Africa’s 25-years of democracy/freedom, Cyril Ramaphosa announced stringent restrictions which will be every South African’s responsibility to bare to “flatten the curve” of COVID-19 infections.
