Benny Afroe said that he’s always dreamt of an opportunity like this, where he could have the chance to share his homegrown talent with the rest of the world.
“This opportunity will also give me the platform to network with other musicians from all over the world. This is a dream come true for me,” expresses Benny Afroe.
Hand-selected from over 8000 submissions through a rigorous process based on quality and individual music integrity, Benny Afroe’s appearance at this year’s SXSW is well earned.
Taking to his Instagram, Benny said that it’s been a great month and that he’s proud to announce that he’ll be doing his first tour in the USA.
“Big thanks to @sxsw …I never thought that I’d be performing at one of the biggest festivals in the world in 2020. This is a dream come true. A big thanks to my team and all y’all for the support,” he wrote.

Over 75 000 people have registered to attend the seven-night music festival (16 – 22 March 2020). Benny Afroe will have the opportunity to showcase to passionate audiences of influential international music industry professionals, press and media.
Benny Afroe’s USA traction began early last year with the release of his single, Hello Baby!, which charted on iTunes in the USA.
Benny Afroe’s momentum locally is on an upward trajectory, with his follow on single, Good Bye, making a frequent appearance on the Top 100 Radiomonitor chart and his latest release with Ami Faku, This Feeling, has already been picked up by key radio stations across the country such as Metro FM, Motsweding FM, and Umhlobo Wenene FM just to highlight a few.
