Both mother and son are known to apply serious pressure whenever they make a post on their socials, often parading their lavish lifestyles. While Mam’Khize lives it up in Los Angeles following the BET Awards which took place this past Monday.
Andile Mpisane is making sure to represent on the home front. The 21 year old took to his Instagram with a post that showed off his Rick Owens outfit and left some people speechless.
The young media personality is supposedly wearing what might appear to some as a plain black button-up shirt with matching trousers, boots, and a bucket hat. With shades to finish off the look.
Only Andile’s outfit was far from basic, it was in fact luxury clothing brand Rick Owens. Controversial and known blogger Musa Khawula took it upon himself to dissect Mpisane’s outfit.
Revealing that the entire outfit cost roughly R76 000. This is excluding Andile’s Fogachine boots which cost R32 200, and a Givenchy bucket hat worth R8 700.
This had social media in a stir with many saying that the entire outfit cost more than the salary they make in a year. Some even listed the various things they could buy with that amount of money. Saying that the entire outfit was outrageously expensive.
This reminded others of the inequality that exists between the working class and the ultra-rich. A twitter user touched on the fact that South Africa was going through some tough times. Especially with the ongoing loadshedding crisis.
Also, perhaps a “3 phase generator, rechargeable lights, and gas cylinders” would have been a smarter purchase. Than the Rick Owens outfit.
