On Tuesday, actress and businesswoman Thandy Matlaila have been announced as Brand South Africa’s new ambassador. She’s looking forward to a year filled with connecting fellow South Africans and putting talent in our country on a global scale!
“We are happy to inform the media that Brand SA’s new ambassador is, Thandy Matlaila,” reads a statement released by her PR agent.

Thandy Matlaila is a household name in the South African entertainment industry. She has played and continues to play her part in being a proudly South African citizen striving for change and driving a positive impact through her initiatives.
Thandy Matlaila is an amazing actress that has graced our television screens from the days of Tshisa for her starring role as Lindiwe Ngema on SABC1. She also played the role of Cleo on The Queen season 1 – 3.

She’s also a dancer, choreographer, and presenter known for presenting the youth science programme Knock Knock: Ball of Fame on SABC3 and for her role as Patricia on the SABC1 mini-series uGugu no Andile.
Thandy Matlaila is an AFDA graduate, she also starred in the film Jerusalema, had a cameo role in the SABC1 drama series A Place Called Home and was the face of Heartlines Initiative, a series of films that aired on SABC.

About Brand SA
Brand South Africa was established in August 2002 to help create a positive and compelling brand image for South Africa.
At that time, the world was unsure about what to think of South Africa, with many different messages being sent out by various sources. This did very little to build the country’s brand and it was evident that to attract tourism and investment there was a need to co-ordinate marketing initiatives to make them more effective.
