SABC 1 and Uzalo, have finally confirmed the departure of fan-favourite character Nosipho, played by Nompilo Maphumulo from the popular SABC soapie.
As per research, Thandiwe Mbali Maphumulo, who goes by the name Nompilo Maphumulo is a South African actress, singer and dancer.
The announcement follows after Isolezwe‘s report last week, that her contract together with the other Uzalo actor had not been renewed for the 9th season of the show.
But hearsay report that, that might not be the only case that they she was released. In actual fact, the actress has rubbished reports by fans that she’s pregnant in real life.

The Durban-based actress, whose character ‘Nosipho’ is pregnant with Mondli’s baby and engaged to Pastor Gwala says there’s no bun in the oven.
In simple terms, ‘she is very much not pregnant’, at least for now.
“I think the fake tummy that I’m wearing on set looks real and I portray a role of a pregnant woman well. That’s why people think I’m really pregnant. I’m very much not pregnant. There’s no bun in the oven here.”
Maphumulo, who’s been with the SABC1 soapie since season one also reveals that it was time for her to leave and venture into other things.
She also said that she is one of the thespians that have been with the show since day one, so it surely is time. This is since the show debuted back in 2015.
“Uzalo released me because it was time for me to leave. I’m the luckiest actress. If I’m not mistaken, we are less than five actors who started when Uzalo debuted on TV screens in 2015. So, everyone has their time. I had my time and it was a wonderful experience. I worked with a wonderful crew and learned a lot about acting. Now it’s my time to bow out.”
