Lawsuit clown Nota Baloyi is pleading with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to ask Presidential Head of Digital Communications Athi Geleba to forgive him, claiming he did not intend to defame her!

A week ago Nota Baloyi accused Shimza, real name Ashley Raphala of benefiting from political connections, including allegations of tender benefits from the Department of Tourism.
The letter from Mabuza Attorneys reads as follows: “We act on behalf of Ms. Athi Geleba, who is hereinafter referred to as ‘our client’. We are instructed that on 17 May 2021, you published and/or disseminated statements on your Twitter account under the username ‘#TheAuthority @AuthorityNota’ wherein you stated that (see below).”
“Shimza (Ashley Raphala) has been benefitting from political connections for years. He called me a moerskont but I don’t moerskont on taxpayer’s money. Khusela Diko was fired for allowing her husband to win PPE tenders and he later died of COVID19 complications. Athi’s boy toy will cost her!” alleges Kwesta’s former business ally, Nota Baloyi.

He also alleged that Shimza’s Hang Awt Restaurant got a cook-off gig from the Tourism Department through the connections of his girlfriend Athi Geleba.
“Our client (Athi Geleba), a politically exposed individual, is the “political connection” through which Mr. Ashley “Shimza” Raphala, a person whom you have called corrupt, has unduly and unlawfully benefitted. Our client has facilitated, through her political associations, a corrupt and unlawful relationship between Mr. Ashley “Shimza” Raphala and government entities and/or political parties…” reads parts of the letter from Mabuza Attorneys.
Mabuza Attorneys have instructed Nota Baloyi to immediately delete his tweets and publicly apologize to Athi Geleba.
“You should forthwith and without delay publicly apologize and retract your defamatory statements against our client (Athi Geleba) on all your social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram in the following terms,” instructs the letter of demand from Mabuza Attorneys.

“On 17 May 2021, I published statements on my Twitter page, in which I accused Ms. Athi geleba of corruption and being a conduit of corruption. This statement was false, defamatory, and injurious to Ms. Geleba’s reputation and dignity. I have deleted this statement and I apologize profusely and sincerely to Ms. Geleba and undertake to never repeat those slanderous words again,” instructs Mabuza Attorneys.
Mabuza Attorneys further instructed that his apology should feature prominently on the front of all his social media pages, including as a post on his Instagram page, a highlight in his Instagram story, and pinned on the landing page of his Twitter page.
The deadline is this Friday at 12-noon, failure to do so, Mabuza Attorneys are instructed to institute legal proceedings against Nota Baloyi. By the 9th of June 2021, he’s further instructed to pay reputational damages amounting to R500 000 (half a-million-rand).

However, on Thursday Nota Baloyi tweeted President Cyril Ramaphosa: “Another day, another lawsuit! @CyrilRamaphosa please ask Athi to forgive me. I didn’t intend on defaming her, I merely commented on a trending topic and advised her to beware of her reported proximity to Shimza, we all know that he has political bookings!”
