Innocent Masuku Says Drugs Ruined His Life

Innocent Masuku known as Bobo from Yizo Yizo opens up about his drug addiction and advices the youth to be in touch with their communities.

Actor and musician, Innocent Masuku rose to fame after he landed the character of Bobo in the South African teen drama series ‘Yizo Yizo.” Ever since, he became a fan-favourite and a breathe of fresh air in the industry.

His captivating performances made him a household name as he went on to star as Maradona Khumba on Zone 14and Bakstina Lerole on Tshisa. While we commemorated June 16, considering the challenges that young people face such as unemployment still prevail.

Innocent Masuku shared a heartfelt message to the youth of South Africa, warning them about the dangers of drugs. The actor, who has been missing in action, says young people should not do drugs. This is because they will end up missing better opportunities over something that has no use.

“Be careful of the choices you make. It’s amazing how time flies. Sometimes, the choices you make can cost you many opportunities,” he said.

While Bakstina was troublesome and a drug addict onscreen. In reality Innocent’s life also took an awful turn after he became addicted to drugs. His absence from the spotlight has left fans pondering where he is.
Over and above, the actor has recently revealed how his addiction affected his acting career. Unfortunately, with all the fame, he too fell into drugs, and that is not something he wishes for any young person.
Masuku then gave young people advice as the Economic Freedom Fighter commemorated the Youth of 16 June 1976.
“When I entered the entertainment industry, I was tempted and got involved in drugs. And I regret it because I lost so many opportunities and good friends. And no matter how much I regret it, I can never regain the time I lost. It feels bad,” he says.
